This spiritual retreat at an auspicious place like Shirdi
Good design should have rhythm, function, and aesthetics. Depending on the space and context of the site, the design should make the space functional and stay true to the culture and history of the place. The main goal while designing a spiritual retreat in Shirdi was to form spaces and experiences which would revitalize and invigorate one’s physical and mental health.
Keeping the form simple and making sure the design is passively cooled and well lit, multiple courtyards and spill our spaces were introduced in the design. The flow of the structure was designed according to vastu and the internal and external spaces were interlinked, making common meeting and community areas.
