Christ Church School

The Christ Church School at Byculla, Mumbai is a 100 year old institution for which we had the honour of creating an extension building. Being a heritage structure, our main goal was to stay true to the context and the history of the site and create a design which idealises a bridge between the old and the new.

The present structure exists in two phases. Phase 1 is the old building and phase 2 is the new extension. The second phase was designed in a way that the internal functions flowed organically and there was no stark line of difference between the phases. Shaping up the spaces together to create beautiful, engaging and one-of-a-kind environments.  With the combination of standard lines and colours there is a careful continuity binding the whole space in a dramatic extension using unique architectural characters.
